The first burials in Mount Olivet Cemetery were prior to 1850. The cemetery is a Diocesan Cemetery of the Diocese of Rockford, Illinois, and services the various parishes located in the southern Fox Valley area. The cemetery has available grave spaces, mausoleum crypts and mausoleum niches for cremated remains. A variety of vaults, markers and memorials, vases and decorations are also available to the Catholic families that we serve.
The Rosary Garden at Mount Olivet Cemetery
The Rosary Garden at Mount Olivet Cemetery is a one-of-a-kind space thoughtfully designed to serve both as a place of prayer and as a dignified burial option for cremated remains. Created in partnership with Wilbert Memorials, the Rosary Garden features granite ‘beads’ embedded into the pathway, forming a walkable rosary that invites quiet reflection, meditation, and connection to the Catholic faith.

A unique devotional space honoring faith, reflection, and the dignity of Catholic burial
Our Rosary Garden allows families to choose a resting place for their loved ones within a devotional setting. This combination of spiritual symbolism with a practical burial option offers a meaningful alternative to traditional cremation graves or columbaria, giving families a serene and beautifully crafted environment for remembrance.
